Important Calendar Changes:

Venerable Lama Tsang Tsing has received an invitation to attend the special Ceremonies in India on the auspicious occasion of Yangsi Kalu Rinpoche's completion of his 3-year Retreat. Lama Tsang Tsing will travel to Sonada Monastery, Yangsi Rinpoche's main seat, in early September to attend the planned ceremonies.

As you know, KDC's schedule of events for 2008 was made last February; and at that time the ceremonies in India had not been scheduled. Since Lama Tsang Tsing will be going to India to attend the ceremonies for his Root Lama, the Cho Empowerment and the Manjushri Empowerment will be rescheduled for 2009.

The Manjushri Empowerment will be bestowed on Sunday, January 25 at 2:00 p.m.

The Cho Empowerment will be bestowed on Sunday, February 8 at 2:00 p.m.

For your schedules, please note also that the all-day Mahakala Puja before Losar will be held on Monday, February 23rd from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The schedule for the White Tara Empowerment and the White Tara teachings will remain the same, and will be held on the weekend of August 30 & 31. We hope that you can join us on that weekend, not only to receive the special blessings and teachings associated with White Tara, but also as an opportunity to see Venerable Lama Tsang Tsing before he leaves for India, which will be just after that weekend.

Shrine Room Etiquette

To properly prepare oneself to receive Empowerments and teachings or to engage in Puja, please plan to arrive at the KDC Shrine Room fifteen minutes before an event is scheduled to begin and sit in quiet meditation. The doors will be closed at the beginning of the event, and no late entries are allowed so that other meditators will not be disturbed.

Standard Schedule for the All-Day Teachings

8:45 a.m.: Arrival.
9:00 – 11:00 a.m.: Instructions and guided meditation.
1:00 – 4:00 p.m.: Question-and-answer period and guided meditation.

You are welcome to bring a lunch and stay during the break.
